Imbi Tarum and Julia Ageyeva Hess began playing together as a duo in 2013 and made their debut performance the same year at the Viljandi Early Music Festival (Estonia). Further concerts followed at historical venues such as Niguliste Church and Town Hall in Tallinn and at Kõltsu Manor as part of the 2014 Estonian Harpsichord Festival.
The two artists share a passion for and understanding of performance on early keyboard instruments. As a duo, they seek to explore the rich potential of sonorities and expressive means offered by two harpsichords while presenting rarely heard repertoire to their audience. This includes transcriptions as well as newly commissioned pieces.
